Pittsburgh Steelers has just been warned about George Pickens
The Pittsburgh Steelers require assistance for George Pickens, as things could become problematic if they do not have it.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have undergone significant changes this summer, particularly in terms of offensive personnel. The wide receivers have undergone the most changes, with Diontae Johnson and Allen Robinson II leaving and Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, and others joining.
According to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, with no apparent second option at wide receiver, George Pickens will be put under further scrutiny as the Steelers’ top option.
“Right now, there’s just a glaring hole at wide receiver after Pickens,” he explained on 93.7 The Fan. “You just go to OTAs and say, ‘Hmm, George Pickens isn’t going to be happy with the coverage he’ll be getting.'” So if you acquire a guy like [Brandon] Aiyuk or [Deebo] Samuel, that clearly changes.”
For the first time in years, the Steelers lack a viable second option due to Roman Wilson’s unknown status and a difficult time finding quality on the market. With supporters concerned about the offense after the 2023 season, the Steelers are in a difficult situation with the pass game this year.
The Steelers have tremendous potential this season, but Pickens’ decision as the team’s top option is critical.
It’s too early to say, but the impact Pickens, the running backs, and Pat Friermuth have on the field will most certainly determine the Steelers’ success this season.
