On social media, cornerback Kenny Pickett has already said Pittsburgh farewell. However, he went on to discuss his departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Philadelphia Eagles’ inaugural press conference on March 18.
To start, Pickett answered a question regarding his reasons for wanting to leave the Steelers with a few details.

Five days after signing quarterback Russell Wilson to a contract, the Steelers traded Pickett. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Steelers intended to give Wilson first-team reps during OTAs, but after that, Wilson and Pickett would battle for the starting job.
That was all Pickett needed to desire to leave Pittsburgh. According to Breer, Pickett felt “misled” by Tomlin’s assurance that there would be an open competition for the position, which was given to him just days before Wilson signed his deal.
According to Gerry Dulac of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pickett called off a team exercise the day after Wilson accepted his contract.
But Pickett did not feel bad about the way he handled his release from the Steelers.
