Three teams Miami Hurricanes are glad not to play in 2024
While the Hurricanes’ 2024 schedule isn’t easy, Miami does get to avoid a number of its most difficult conference opponents.
The ACC now looks dramatically different than it has in recent decades, with new additions and long-time opponents. The California Golden Bears, Stanford Cardinals, and SMU Mustangs are all joining forces as leagues around the country realign.
The Canes only have one new opponent, the Cal Bears, but they must also battle the traditional league foes, like Florida State, Duke, Georgia Tech, and others.
So, which ACC opponents will the Hurricanes gladly avoid throughout the 2024 season?
SMU Mustangs
The SMU Mustangs are back in business after a long lull of insufferable seasons.
The Hurricanes may avoid SMU until 2025, when they travel to Dallas for the first time since 1965.
North Carolina Tar Heels

With talented players like quarterback Drake Maye, the Tar Heels have moved up the conference standings in recent seasons.
As North Carolina and Miami take a break in their respective games, the Canes can take a break from having to face one of the greatest head coaches of all time.
Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers may be on a drought of College Football Playoff appearances, but Dabo Swinney has elevated the squad to a dominant position in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Despite a paucity of transfer portal acquisitions, Clemson is expected to be the No. 19 team in the country, according to ESPN’s way-too-early rankings.
Miami, like practically any previous season, should be grateful as ever that they will not face the Clemson Tigers in 2024.
