Which 2024 games will present the biggest challenges for Clemson? Sorting the Tigers’ opponents according to difficulty

Soon, ACC Media Days will be here. Once that concludes, the summer seems to drift away, and the fall arrives — and with it, college football once again takes center stage.
Clemson is in a very interesting spot heading into 2024-25, flying under the radar after a four-loss season. However, the Tigers ended the season on a five-game winning streak, and there are a lot of familiar faces walking around the football facility this summer.
Clemson, like many others, is looking to capitalize on an expanded playoff field. The ACC’s champion will be guaranteed a spot in the College Football Playoff. A one- or perhaps even two-loss Tigers team could find its way into the postseason.
So where are the victories and defeats on the schedule? I went ahead and assigned a difficulty rating to each of Clemson’s 12 regular season games, ranging from easy to extremely challenging.
This is how it transpired:
The season finale against South Carolina and a road game against Pittsburgh are the two games the Tigers will be hosting the in-state Bulldogs from Charleston. Under Maurice Drayton’s leadership, The Citadel finished 0-11 in his debut season as head coach last year. The Bulldogs lost nine games by double digits, with the majority of them being non-competitive.
This game won’t be close; these games are never close. Younger players will get a chance to participate, while famous players will have time to recover before a major rivalry match.
After spending time at Sacramento State, head coach Troy Taylor is in his second season with the Cardinals. In its last Pac-12 season, Stanford finished 3-9.
