Bruce Pearl has not updated Lior Berman’s injuries: “I’m a little depressed over that.”
After the game, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl was clearly not as joyful even though his team had won thanks to Lior Berman.
In the second half of the Tigers’ 78-63 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday, Berman was hurt. In ten minutes, he only managed five points in the end.
However, Berman’s injury occurred at a horrible time, as Pearl had great expectations for him going into the match.
He’s been performing so brilliantly.That makes me sad a little bit,” Pearl remarked after the game.
Berman gripped his knee and continued to wince in pain, as Tigers trainers hurried to check on him. Berman preferred his right knee, and he was ultimately taken off the floor to a standing ovation.
During the course of the previous four seasons, Berman gradually increased his role after joining Auburn’s squad in the 2019–20 campaign. Before this season, Berman will be in his fifth year with the squad, and Pearl has honoured him by giving him a full scholarship.
With an average of just 6.3 minutes per game this season, the 6-foot-4 guard hasn’t played a lot of minutes. Nonetheless, he has participated in more games—27—than in any previous season in his career. In addition, he has averaged 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
Should the injury prove to be as severe as it appeared, Berman’s collegiate career would come to an unfortunate end. Over the previous five years, he has given Auburn everything he has, so it doesn’t seem fair to think that he could not be able to participate in the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.
