Clemson Football Schedule for 2024 Announced
CLEMSON, South Carolina — The 2024 football schedule was released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday night. Clemson’s schedule was first revealed on ACC Huddle: 2024 Football Schedule Release on ACC Network and ESPN2. When the Tigers play Georgia in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Aflac Kickoff Game on Saturday, August 31, Clemson will begin the season under the national spotlight.
Clemson’s 2024 schedule will once again include a complete seven-game home schedule in Death Valley and four road games against ACC opponents, in addition to the highly anticipated non-conference matchup in Atlanta.
For the second time in three years, Clemson will open a season in the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons when the Tigers face the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, Aug. 31. Clemson defeated Georgia Tech, 41-10, in its last visit to the facility to open 2022. The Tigers will attempt to earn their first win against Georgia since 2013 in a matchup of regional rivals that have accounted for four of the last eight national championships. In the series’ 17 installments since 1980, the winner of this contest went on to win the national championship three times.
On Saturday, September 7, the Clemson Tigers will play their home opener at Memorial Stadium against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. In home openers, Clemson is 98-17-8 all-time, including victories over the Boone boys in 1984, 1991, and 1997 among its victories. The Tigers have a perfect record against App State, having defeated the Mountaineers 41-10 in their most recent meeting in 2015.
Following an open date the previous Saturday, Clemson will host the Wolfpack at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 21, in an attempt to continue its home domination over NC State after losing on the road in Raleigh last year. at the event of a victory, Clemson’s home winning streak over the Wolfpack at Death Valley would reach ten games, marking the eighth time in school history that a team has done so against a single opponent. The most successful coaches in each program’s history will compete in the game. With eight wins in a row over Dave Doeren, Dabo Swinney has the second-highest winning % (10 wins versus Dave Clawson) against a head coach he has coached against.
