The official signing of him by the Clemson Tigers is GOOD NEWS….

On the day of Clemson’s signing, the team flips one offensive lineman and signs another.
Mason Wade and Elyjah Thurmon, two offensive linemen, were added by Clemson to the 2024 class.

When Clemson brought in new offensive line coach Matt Luke, he didn’t have a ton of time to hit the recruiting trail, but that didn’t stop him from flipping a tackle from an ACC rival and signing another lineman with big-time potential.

Mason Wade, a three-star tackle out of Purcellville, Virginia has officially signed with Clemson, completing the flip from Duke. Wade had been committed to the Blue Devils since June, but with Luke on campus, Clemson got in late and offered back on December 14th. Wade decommitted from Duke and signed with Clemson on Wednesday.

Three-star tackle Elyjah Thurmon from Southeast Georgia’s Bradwell Institute will also be joining the line class. According to his school, Thurman is 6-foot-5, so he has lots of room to gain weight. According to 247’s Composite Rankings, Clemson’s 2024 class is now ranked 13th after Wade and Thurmon signed.

Wednesday will mark another uneventful National Signing Day at Clemson – each member of the Tigers’ 2024 recruiting class signed their letters of intent in December.

The focus soon will turn to the field. With Clemson football kicking off spring practice on Feb. 28, freshmen will be striving to make positive first impressions.

By the time the spring game is held on April 6, it will be evident which of coach Dabo Swinney’s 15 midyear enrollees are leading candidates to be early contributors during the 2024 season.

The seven players who won’t arrive until midsummer will have to wait until fall practice to impress the coaches, but delayed arrival didn’t prevent Antonio Williams and Tyler Brown from emerging as the team’s top receivers in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
