BREAKING: New York Yankees are reportedly set to add a top class pitcher before the MLB Trade Deadline

The New York Yankees are likely to be buyers at the MLB Trade Deadline, with an emphasis on bolstering their corner infield positions.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com listed the Yankees as one of the top landing locations for Chicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn, the third overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.

At the deadline, the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners were considered as probable landing spots for Vaughan.

It would be an interesting move for the Yankees to sign Vaughn before the July 30 deadline. He’s 26 years old and eligible for arbitration until the 2026 season.

Intriguing Andrew Vaughn Takes Over First Base For The Chicago White Sox

Vaughn has a career.726 OPS, and despite a rough start, he’s hit considerably better in the last month and a half.

Vaughn has hit in 38 games dating back to May 8.293 with nine home runs, 28 RBI, and a.858 OPS in 160 plate appearances.

Vaughn isn’t a particularly good defender, although he has played both third and first base. He only played the latter in 2024.

With the trade deadline just over a month away, Vaughn may be a name to look out for if the Yankees feel the need to add some youthful pop.
