BREAKING: The Steelers has landed another veteran player
The Pittsburgh Steelers needed to replace a roster space before training camp after releasing veterans Trenton Thompson and Denzel Mims. The squad added a player to round out their 90-man roster, filling that vacancy. The Steelers revealed that they have signed wide receiver Jacob Copeland to a one-year deal via their X account.

A 5’11, 200-pound wide receiver hoping for a big NFL career, Copeland is 24 years old. The young receiver should have an advantage at training camp because he is acquainted with the Steelers organization. He was a member of the team’s practice squad for a portion of the 2023 season, and in 2024 he will receive another opportunity with the team. He’s hoping that this is the moment when everything becomes sense.
Copeland was up and down in the NFL before he signed with the Steelers. In 2023, he signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans. He was waived not long after the team’s training camp. He was cut loose and went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings and the Steelers practice squads twice. Near the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, Copeland was released by the Steelers and signed a futures/reserve deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He has helmets from three separate clubs, but he hasn’t played in an NFL regular season game yet.Copeland attended the University of Florida and the University of Maryland to play collegiate football. For Florida, he played four seasons and gained 1,866 yards. During his final season at Maryland, he caught 26 receptions for 2 touchdowns and 376 yards. The Steelers’ roster has 90 players now after this transaction.
