GREAT NEWS: Georgia star ‘Favorite’ to be the first taken at his position in the 2025 draft.

The NFL draft factory in Athens is anticipated to continue operating next spring.

In recent years, no program in the country has produced more professional athletes than Georgia. 49 Bulldogs have been drafted in the last five years.

Carson Beck, a star quarterback, is one of the safer picks to compete for the top overall pick. He isn’t the only one at the top of his position, however, as safety Malaki Starks becomes draft eligible after the 2024 season.

The two-time All-American has been a dominant force in Georgia’s secondary and returns as the “favorite” to be the first at the position off the board in 2025.

Starks is ranked first by draft gurus Jordan Reid and Matt Miller (ESPN), as well as Max Chadwick (Pro Football Focus), heading into his junior season.

“Starks, a true freshman in 2022, led all Georgia defenders with 847 snaps during the team’s national championship run. Chadwick stated that his eight interceptions and forced incompletions tied for seventh among SEC safeties that year. “Starks improved on his rookie year by receiving an 84.8 run-defense mark as a sophomore, ranking him eighth in the Power Five for his position. In 2023, he was tied for sixth in the same group with seven forced incompletions.
