The Oklahoma Sooners 2025 recruiting class is coming together as we approach the middle of the summer, fewer than six months until the early signing period. After acquiring a pair of four-star wide outs in the last week, the defense now has its chance. Four-star defensive end C.J. Nickson has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Nickson choose the Sooners over Bedlam rivals Oklahoma State. He’s a true two-sport standout who will also play basketball under Porter Moser and the Men’s Hoops team.

ESPN and 247Sports rank Nickson as a top-100 talent in the 2025 class, and the Weatherford, Oklahoma native is regarded as the best player in the state.

Nickson’s athleticism and playmaking talents on the court are impressive.

Here’s what we said about Nickson back in April.

His length is a challenge for offensive tackles, and he possesses the quickness and agility to be a productive pass rusher at the NCAA level. He plays both positions for Weatherford, including wide receiver, where he has 604 yards and eight touchdowns on 36 receptions in 2023. – Williams, Sooner Wire.

The Sooners are assembling a top-tier defensive front, and C.J. Nickson has joined Miguel Chavis’ edge group as a key player.

Nickson joins a defensive line class that features Ka’Mori Moore, Trent Wilson, and Alexander Shieldknight. The Sooners are still seeking to sign Kade Pietrzak, a four-star defensive end from North Dakota.

With 18 commitments in the cycle, the Sooners currently have the fifth-best recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
