BREAKING: Veteran Linebacker commits to Miami Hurricanes
Soon after his second visit to the University of Miami, four-star linebacker Gavin Nix knew where he wanted to spend the next several years of his college career. Nix has already announced his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes football team.
The 6-0, 225-pound linebacker has spent the previous two years at IMG Academy, finishing his junior year with 42 tackles (7 TFL), 5 QBH, and a sack in 8 games, according to MaxPreps. Watching the film, he is a powerful and impactful hitter. It was a source of pride for the University in the early 2000s, and his style of play has since been sought after. His speed and persistent pressure to get to the ball are next-level.
This will be the Hurricanes’ fourth prospect from IMG Academy (Fla.). These guys, Francis Mauigoa, Antonio Tripp, Jr., and Riley Williams, have proven to be excellent potential for the squad. Hopefully, more from the tree will make their way to the Hurricanes in the future.
The Hurricanes have made a splash this summer, acquiring one of their primary objectives. More is on the way for Mario Cristobal’s coaching staff, and they will soon be among the top ten in recruiting.
