GREAT NEWS: Texas A&M Aggies star player announces return
The Aggies received a significant boost to their roster on Monday when outfielder Hayden Schott removed his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal and announced his return to the program.
The Texas A&M Aggies are already seeing the benefits of signing former hitting coach Michael Earley as their new head coach.
Following the departure of previous coach Jim Schlossnagle to the Texas Longhorns last week, many Aggies placed their names into the NCAA Transfer Portal, including standouts like Gavin Graohvac, Jace LaViolette, Ali Camarillo, and Hayden Schott.
However, with Earley’s hiring, the opinion was that the Aggies would have a decent chance of maintaining the majority of that talent.
And in the last 24 hours, outfielder and slugger Hayden Schott has become the latest to declare his return to Aggieland.
Clearly, this is significant news for the Aggies in more ways than one.
The Columbia graduate transfer had an impressive season at the plate, with a.335 batting average, eight home runs, and 63 RBI. He also contributed significantly to the Aggies’ offensive prowess in the NCAA tournament, with his four-hit performance in game two of the Super Regional against the Oregon Ducks giving more than enough support for the Aggies to continue their quest for Omaha.
However, it also helps to set the tone for the show and keep the excitement going, which may lead to other major names returning as well.
Camarillo sparked that enthusiasm by expressing his intention to return on Sunday. Schott, who will be in his final year of eligibility due to the COVID year, came next.
