South Carolina’s top star projected to flip to Georgia football
The Georgia Bulldogs were a significant winner in college football recruitment in June and are hoping to maintain that momentum into July. According to a recruiting specialist, Georgia may be on its way to accomplishing this by switching a commit from a rival school.
According to Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports, the Bulldogs are expected to sign Shamari Earls, a four-star cornerback who is presently committed to Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Earls is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback from Chester, Virginia, who committed to the Gamecocks in April. Earls made a recent visit to Athens on June 21. Michigan has also been quite interested in his recruitment. He is the eighth ranked cornerback in the nation and the second ranked player in
Earls excelled in football and track & field while attending Thomas Dale High School. He has experience as a two-way player, having recorded 25 tackles and three interceptions on defense last season, as well as 715 yards and eight touchdowns as a receiver and return specialist.
Georgia currently has no defensive backs committed for the class of 2025. In addition to Earls, the Bulldogs have recently been linked to four-star safety prospects Jaylan Morgan and Rashad Johnson.
