BREAKING: Major South Carolina Football target sets commitment date
Another key Gamecocks prospect is scheduled to make his collegiate commitment on Friday, August 2. Juan Gaston, a four-star OT from Atlanta, Georgia, will choose between South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Oregon.
Gaston, who stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 340 pounds, is a monster on both the field and the basketball court. He plays left tackle for the West Lake Lions in Georgia’s top division, where he has protected the quarterback’s blind side since his sophomore year.
The talented incoming senior is a mauler in the running game. He moves well, as evidenced by pulls on the run and on the basketball floor. Gaston, a center for the Lions basketball team, helped his team go to the second round of the Georgia 7A playoffs in 2022.
Lonnie Teasley and the Gamecocks would gain their second offensive lineman commitment in the 2025 class with Gaston. Shedrick Sarratt Jr., a fellow four-star recruit, committed to South Carolina on June 14.
Currently, sophomores Tree Babalade and Cason Henry are expected to man the tackle spots for the Gamecocks in 2024. Behind them are two talented tackles, Aaryn Parks (transfer) and Kam Pringle (freshman).
Stay tuned on August 2 for Gamecocks Digest’s up-to-date coverage of the committment.
