The Jesus and Mary Chain has announced a 27-date North American co-headlining tour with The Psychedelic Furs and special guest Frankie Rose this fall.
The ’80s alt icons will appear in New York three times early in their tour.
First, they’ll perform their distinct pop styles at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Friday, October 4. Following that, the two will visit Brooklyn’s Paramount Theatre on Saturday, October 5, and Rochester’s Kodak Center on Tuesday, October 8.
This nationwide tour follows The Jesus and Mary Chain’s creative revival; on March 22, they released their eighth studio album “Glasgow Eyes,” which got overwhelmingly positive reviews.

The Jesus and Mary Chain new music
On March 22, TJaMC released their eighth studio album, “Glasgow Eyes.”
The album, which contains 12 songs, is a return to form for the fuzzed-out noise rock band. It’s all rough guitars, anguished vocals, and washed-out sound over deceptively basic melodies.
Highlights include the perennially catchy “American Born,” the neo-futurist “Mediterranean X Film” (which sounds like a collaboration with Kraftwerk), and the sludgy shoegaze confection “Pure Poor.”
Even yet, we preferred the record’s brightest tune. If you want to hear The Jesus and Mary Chain’s most popular song yet, listen to “The Eagles and the Beatles”.
Make sure to stick around for the moving finale “Hey Lou Reid.” It’s an excellent tribute to the Velvet Underground frontman.

Frankie Rose
In addition to the co-headliners, Frankie Rose will perform as the opening act.
The dreamy female singer-songwriter began her career playing with The Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, Vivian Girls, and Beverly. She currently performs as a solo performer.
As an introduction to her sound, we recommend starting with the ethereal “Pair Of Wings,” melancholy, poppy “Know Me,” and propulsive sing-along “Night Swim,” which you’ll want to hear all day.
