GREAT NEWS: NHRA great John Force reportedly breaks silence after his ghastly Virginia crash and sends a heartfelt message to all his fans
John Force, an NHRA legend, was aware before being evacuated to a medical facility following a fiery incident Sunday at Virginia Motorsports Park.
During the first round of Funny Car eliminations, the engine of the 75-year-old Force’s car exploded at the finish line, pushing the vehicle across the centerline and into both guard walls.
The NHRA claimed that Force was alert and was assessed on the track by the NHRA Medical Team before being transported to a medical facility.
Force won his record-breaking 157th NHRA race three weeks ago in New Hampshire, his second of the season.
Force, 58, was severely injured in a racing accident in Ennis, Texas, in 2007.
