Breaking: The Angel Reese She Is Ecstatic Due To….

A Sky teammate provides a last-second touch as Angel Reese stops a record-breaking streak.
Angel Reese, a rookie in the WNBA, preserved her double-double run and dramatically extended her lead on the all-time list after breaking Candace Parker’s record this past weekend.

It’s not quite over for Angel Reese’s record-breaking double-double run. After Chennedy Carter sprinted up the court and threw the ball to Marina Mabrey, who fed Reeese in the closing seconds, the Chicago Sky forward scored more than ten points. Reese scored her tenth and eleventh points from the free-throw line after drawing a foul.

Chicago trounced the Atlanta Dream 78-69, and when Reese scored the final point after grabbing 13 rebounds on Wednesday, the fans went crazy.

Previously, Candace Parker held the WNBA record with 12 double-doubles in a row.

Because of foul trouble, Reese’s run came dangerously close to ending. She was stuck at seven points entering the final minute. Even after making a layup with 25.1 seconds left, the 22-year-old seemed out of luck.

But Carter burst forward with the ball following a Mabrey block. And, realizing Reese should have a chance to extend her record despite the Sky not needing to put up a shot given the scoreline, directed the ball to Mabrey to throw into the post.

After drawing a foul against Tina Charles, Reese made both of her foul-line baskets to extend her lead to 11 points.

Carter and Reese have rapidly become great friends, even though they didn’t know each other until Reese joined the league this year. And on Wednesday, Reese will value Carter’s consideration.

“That’s what the Chenn is to the Barbie,” Reese recently said to reporters. “I mean, Chennedy is very energetic and I adore her so much. I’ve probably never played with a faster player than her. Thus, simply being able to play with her and get confidence from her.”
