Miami lands another coveted commit in CB. Antoine
Miami beats over LSU to sign one of the country’s top cornerback prospects.
The Miami Hurricanes football program has found its lockdown cornerback of the future.
Class of 2025 cornerback Jaboree Antoine, a former LSU recruit, committed to UM on Saturday.
Antoine, who attended Westgate High School in New Iberia, Louisiana, chose Miami over LSU and Florida State.
At 6-feet-1 and 170 pounds, Antoine ranks as the No. 137 overall player in the country, according to 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 71 player, according to the industry generated 247Sports Composite.
Antoine originally committed to in-state LSU in late January. He took two official visits during the summer, checking out Florida State and Miami, before decommitting from LSU on June 23rd.
With the commitment of Antoine,Miami cornerbacks Chevis Jackson, a former LSU All-American, earns an impressive recruiting win over his alma mater.
As a junior, Antoine missed 7-of-12 Westgate games due to a collarbone injury. As a sophomore, Antoine totaled 32 tackles, five interceptions, and 11 pass break-ups. A big time athlete, Antoine has played quarterback and defensive back at the high school level. He totaled 1,953 all-purpose yards on offense as a sophomore.
Miami is focused on landing one of the top defensive back recruiting classes in this 2024 cycle and now Antoine joins 4-star DB Hylton Stubbs, 4-star DB Amari Wallace, 4-star CB Chris Ewald, and 3-star CB Timothy Merritt.
The addition of Antoine now gives the Hurricanes three Top 100 prospects according to the industry generated 247Sports Composite, joining Stubbs (No. 52) and offensive lineman SJ Alofaituli (No. 75).
UM is working to sign its third consecutive top ten recruiting class in the country—something that the program has never achieved during the 247Sports era, which dates back to the 2011 recruiting cycle.
The Hurricanes are also pushing to sign the top class in the ACC in three consecutive cycles. With Mario Cristobal as the head coach at Miami, UM has ended the reign of Clemson being the top recruiting program in the conference. From 2018-22, the Tigers claimed the top recruiting class in the ACC.
