BREAKING: Cleveland Browns have reportedly agreed to a framework of a trade that will finally acquire San Francisco 49ers star.
The Cleveland Browns have allegedly agreed to terms on a trade to acquire San Francisco 49ers standout wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Aiyuk would be a huge addition for the Browns, but the question now is what the team would have to give up to obtain him.
We now appear to have further information about what that trade offer could include.
ESPN writer Jeff Darlington has provided some information regarding what Cleveland could be proposing. On today’s episode of Get Up, he revealed that the Browns will include star wide receiver Amari Cooper in the deal package.
Cooper is likely to be accompanied by a pick or two. That would be an ideal situation for Cleveland.
Cooper is unquestionably one of the best wide receivers in the game, but he isn’t getting any younger. Moving away from him in order to obtain a long-term No. 1 like Aiyuk would be a wise choice.
Cooper finished the 2023 season with the Browns catching 72 catches for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns. He was an important part of the offensive, but Aiyuk would be a better replacement.
Aiyuk has 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. It was his best season yet, and he expects to have an even better year in 2024.
Any deal for the 26-year-old wide receiver would include a significant long-term contract extension. Clearly, the Browns are willing to pay that price.
Expect to learn more about a potential Aiyuk trade in the coming future. The issue appears to be heating up, and Cleveland has a serious chance of bringing in a new face in the wide receiver group.
