BREAKING: Elon Musk praises Novak Djokovic while extending support following a dramatic stand in a controversial saga.
“This medal, these moments, this life—none of it would have been possible without your unwavering support.” This is how Novak Djokovic dedicated his recent triumph at the Paris Olympics to all of his fans. Not just Serbians, but people from all around the world came forward to honor his remarkable feat at the age of 37. Among several well-known figures, Elon Musk attempted to express his admiration for the Serb after nearly a year of supporting him in the vaccination debate.
Novak Djokovic recently celebrated a momentous milestone by winning his first Olympic gold medal at Roland Garros. He won the men’s singles final by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets, 7-6(3), 7-6(2). This was Djokovic’s sixth Olympic appearance, and he now has all four Grand Slam championships, as well as an Olympic gold medal, joining Steffi Graf, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams.
Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur behind SpaceX and Tesla, couldn’t resist praising the Serb on social media. He commented on Djokovic’s post: “Congratulations! 🇷🇸.” The tweet was intended to convey gratitude to his supporters: “I could never give up on my dream of winning this gold medal, just as the Serbian people have never given up on me. Together, we believed in the impossible. While I may be the one holding the medal, I want every Serbian to understand that it belongs to all of us,” the caption read.
Congratulations! 🇷🇸

This remark wasn’t merely the beginning of a relationship between the SpaceX founder and the Serbian tennis star. When Novak Djokovic faced criticism for refusing to be vaccinated, Musk defended his decision. He responded to a post by journalist Ed Krassenstein, who was discussing vaccine efficacy. Musk referenced Djokovic to demonstrate that people can do amazing things without receiving a vaccination. He clarified: “Djokovic achieved a Slam record without a vaccine.”
Musk used this statement to attack mandatory vaccination regulations, saying, “My worry was more about the ridiculous demand that people have to get the vaccine and numerous boosters to do anything. Until the Supreme Court overturned Biden’s executive order, SpaceX and many other corporations would have to terminate anyone who refused to get vaccinated!”
With this latest Olympic triumph, Novak Djokovic continues to inspire and provide an example of strength, despite going through a difficult period centered on his refusal to be vaccinated. However, Elon Musk was not the only one who supported the Serb despite the fact that the majority of entities opposed him.
When Nick Kyrgios backed Novak Djokovic during his vaccine controversy
The news of Novak Djokovic’s deportation traveled more quickly than the deadly coronavirus itself. Almost everyone in the tennis community began to perceive him as the perpetrator, which is when the Australian ATP star stepped in to help him. Even after years of overcoming the dark moment, the Serb recalls his co-player’s unflinching support and thus spoke up about it during an Australian Open interview.
“You were one of the very few colleagues on the tour to use his platform, use his voice, to support me (during the deportation) and that is something I will never forget,” Nole told reporters during a conversation. This made fans realize that even a tough entity like Kyrgios may have a gentler side when it comes to supporting an athlete’s free choice, particularly for his own well-being. Although the period was one of the most difficult in the Serb’s career, support from people such as Elon Musk and Nick Kyrgios helped him get through.
