NFL insider weighs in on the Cleveland Browns’ chances for Brandon Aiyuk Trade
An NFL insider has shared his thoughts on the Cleveland Browns’ chances of completing a Brandon Aiyuk trade.
The Cleveland Browns are currently one of the most talked-about clubs in the NFL, courtesy to reports of a deal with the San Francisco 49ers for star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Following the news that the New England Patriots have ceased their trade chase of Aiyuk, the Browns appear to be the most likely trade destination right now.
While other clubs, notably the Pittsburgh Steelers, are in trade talks with the 49ers, Cleveland has a strong chance of landing Aiyuk.
Albert Breer, an NFL insider for Sports Illustrated, has spoken up on the subject.
“The Browns’ depth at receiver is in a good spot, whether a Brandon Aiyuk trade happens or not (I’d guess it probably doesn’t happen for Cleveland, but the Browns are in the mix).”
That may not be the prediction that Browns supporters want to see, but it is a valid one.
Could that forecast have changed now that the Patriots are out on Aiyuk? Potentially, but there is still a very real possibility that all of this trade hoopla will be for nothing.
If Cleveland is able to complete a deal for Aiyuk, their offense will immediately become more deadly.
Amari Cooper may have to be dealt to make this transaction possible. Even if he is sent back to San Francisco in the trade, the Browns will have more speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability on the field.
Aiyuk had his greatest NFL season yet in 2023. He caught 75 receptions totaling 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. Deshaun Watson’s stats may rise even higher if he played as a starter.
Only time will tell whether Cleveland can complete a deal for Aiyuk. Fans will have to just wait and see what happens next.
Expect more developments in the near future. The 49ers are not in a hurry to sell Aiyuk, but for a team like the Browns, bringing him in as quickly as possible would be perfect.
