Neil Diamond has revealed a live-in-studio version of his iconic hit “Pretty Amazing Grace,” which appears on his 2008 album Home Before Dark.

This rendition features Diamond and his bandmates playing acoustic guitars and organ, creating an ideal backdrop for the singer’s renowned vocal performance.

The song is on Neil Diamond’s new digital deluxe edition of Home Before Dark, which is available now. Watch the moving in-studio performance below.

Home Before Dark, released on May 5, 2008, marked the iconic singer-songwriter’s second album for American Recordings. When it was released, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in North America (getting a platinum certification), and it also topped album charts in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Home Before Dark includes Neil Diamond’s original songs as well as some remakes. Rick Rubin produced it, while Dana Nielsen mixed it. David Campbell, who has worked on albums for artists such as The Rolling Stones, Post Malone, and Elton John, arranged and conducted the orchestral parts. The original album was lead by the aforementioned single “Pretty Amazing Grace,” but the deluxe edition includes two new bonus tracks, “Without Her” and “Make You Feel My Love.”

The new Home Before Dark edition follows Diamond’s 2005 album 12 Songs, which was reissued digitally deluxe. Arriving nearly two decades after the original album, the new version of that title included 15 new bonus tracks available for streaming and download, some of which were previously unreleased. The new releases contain demos, early recordings, alternate takes, and alternate mixes of popular Diamond songs such as “Oh Mary,” “Delirious Love,” and “Save Me a Saturday Night.”
