BIG NEWS: NFL analyst shares brutal prediction about Deshaun Watson
One NFL analyst has made a very bad 2024 prediction for Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland Browns.
Deshaun Watson’s right arm will be critical to the Cleveland Browns’ future success in 2024. Yes, the Browns won 11 games last season despite Watson only participating in six games, but the chances of that happening again appear minimal.
Cleveland competes in the AFC North, which is often regarded as the NFL’s toughest division. Watson needs to be at least consistent this season, but Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright does not believe that will happen.
In fact, Wright does not believe Watson will make it through the season as the starting quarterback, and this is not due to injuries.
“I think at some point, they have to admit that’s the worst trade and contract in NFL history,” Wright told First Things First. “It is a sunk cost, you have to try to pull yourself out.”
Wright went on to predict the Browns to finish third in the division.
He explained that Jameis Winston is in Cleveland for a purpose.
Since being acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Houston Texans in March 2022, Watson has appeared in a total of 12 games for Cleveland. During that time, he has thrown 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Those aren’t exactly stellar outcomes, especially since Cleveland gave Watson a fully guaranteed $230 million contract upon signing him.
Of course, Watson still has time to turn things around. He is only 28 years old and has made three Pro Bowl appearances.
Watson’s final full season came in 2020, when he lead the NFL in passing yards. That was a long time ago, and it’s unclear whether the Clemson product will ever reach that level of production again.
