BREAKING: Patriots star Running Back receives huge 2024 predictions
The New England Patriots will be an exciting team to watch as the 2024 NFL season begins. Offensively, no one really knows what to anticipate from the club.
In Week 1, Jacoby Brissett will start at quarterback. Brissett was selected the starter over first-round rookie Drake Maye following a heated competition during preseason and training camp. However, his supporting cast is somewhat questionable.
At wide receiver, the Patriots have a lot to prove. The season will begin with DeMario Douglas, Ja’Lynn Polk, and K.J. Osborn. Kendrick Bourne will miss at least the opening four weeks of the season.
That will leave a heavy workload for running back Rhamondre Stevenson to undertake.
With that in mind, Yahoo Sports has made some bold predictions for Stevenson this season.
In their most recent New England predictions post, they predicted Stevenson would rush for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns.
“Rhamondre Stevenson is ready for a great year, and with Van Pelt’s system suited to his play style, the top running back might have a monster season. Stevenson will most likely handle the brunt of the early-down work and goal-line reps. With an increased workload in a more effective attack, it’s reasonable to expect the talented young back’s production to rise.”
If Stevenson can meet those expectations, the Patriots’ offense will be in a good position. He has proven to be a workhorse running back, but he has yet to put it all together.
Stevenson has performed well enough throughout his time with the team to earn a four-year, $36 million extension this offseason.
Stevenson carried the ball 156 times in 12 games in 2023, totaling 619 yards and four touchdowns. In 2022, he rushed 210 times for 1,040 yards and five touchdowns.
In 2024, he will play his most important role yet. These forecasts indicate that he will live up to the hype and expectations that he has received.
