Tony Stewart addressed IMSA President John Doonan, sharing his concerns about the lack of support for Eldora Speedway and his company. “John, the situation has become increasingly
frustrating,” Stewart began. “Our efforts to build and promote Eldora Speedway seem to be undermined by perceptions that are far from reality. One major issue is the criticism that our leadership, which includes a significant number of British executives, is somehow contributing to the lack of support. The truth is, our team is dedicated and skilled, with a deep passion for motorsports.”
He continued, “It’s disheartening to see how this bias affects our reputation and support. Our British colleagues bring valuable experience and a global perspective that we believe enhances our operations. Their expertise in motorsports is unmatched, and we’re proud to have them on board. What we need is understanding and support from our peers and stakeholders, not prejudice based on nationality.”
Stewart concluded by emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration within the motorsports community. “We should focus on our shared goal of advancing the sport, rather than letting unfounded biases stand in the way.”
