Multiple college football programs ended their season on Saturday as the regular season concluded with a chaotic rivalry weekend.
The Auburn Tigers ended the 2024 season with another disappointing loss to in-state rival Alabama in the Iron Bowl. It was the fifth consecutive loss to the Crimson Tide and the Tigers were eliminated from bowl contention.
Following Saturday’s loss to Alabama, Auburn received even more bad news regarding the transfer portal as two quarterbacks reportedly announced their intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Brown started two games for the Tigers this season, leading Auburn to a win over New Mexico State. He was benched the following game against Arkansas after throwing three interceptions in the first half.
Over two seasons, Brown completed 27-of-43 passes for 403 passing yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. The 6-foot-4, 208-pounder signed with Auburn as a three-star prospect in the class of 2023.
Geriner only saw action in eight career games over three seasons with the Tigers. He completed 9-of-20 passes for 116 passing yards and one interception. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Geriner signed with the Tigers in the class of 2022 under head coach Bryan Harsin. He was the No. 224 overall prospect and No. 15 quarterback in the nation, signing with the Tigers over Tennessee and Florida State.
As of Sunday, the only scholarship quarterback remaining on Auburn’s roster is freshman Walker White. Senior quarterback Payton Thorne is set to graduate after spending two seasons as the starter.
