GREAT NEWS: NHRA drag racing great John Force has been released from the hospital

NHRA drag racing legend John Force has been released from the hospital after receiving rehabilitation for a serious brain injury.

Force suffered injuries in a horrific, 300-mph crash at the Virginia Nationals in June.

According to a statement issued by John Force Racing, the 75-year-old has been released from Barrow Neurological Institute.

Force had a severe brain injury and other injuries, including a cracked sternum, in the incident during the first round of Funny Car eliminations. He will work with therapists who specialize in traumatic brain injuries on an outpatient basis in California.

Tickets for all three days of spectacular racing at Sonoma Raceway are available on the race website. The full program for the weekend can be seen here, but a concise summary of everything going on is provided below.

Friday, July 26 kicks off the festivities with high-speed races in all classes, including Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Top Fuel, and Funny Car.

The racing resumes on Saturday, July 27, with a full slate of nitro runs, autograph sessions, and the finals of numerous qualifying sessions.

Elimination Sunday brings the weekend to a close, but not before the best drivers in each class compete to see who will win their respective classes. Justin Ashley, driving the No. 4 vehicle, won the Top Fuel category in 2023, defeating Antron Brown in the final.
