BREAKING: Cleveland Browns has made an awesome contract gesture to star running back Nick Chubb
This offseason, the Cleveland Browns extended an incredible contract to standout running back Nick Chubb.
The Cleveland Browns’ star running back Nick Chubb will miss the first four games of the 2024 NFL season. He will open the year on the PUP list as he works his way back to the field following a devastating knee injury last year.
However, they made an incredible gesture when they adjusted his contract in the spring.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Browns planned for Chubb to start the year on the PUP list. When they reorganized his contract, they did something unusual with it.
Most contracts require 17 active games to get the entire amount. However, Chubb’s contract just demands 12 games. He is still on track to play 12 games, even if he misses the first four or five.
The #Browns planned for Nick Chubb to begin the season on the PUP list back in the spring when they restructured his deal. Here’s how:
Most roster bonuses require 17 games active to earn the full amount. Chubb’s deal is a very rare exception, requiring only 12 games. https://t.co/f2aT2ZXhe9

The Browns clearly prioritized his well-being. Chubb has been a valuable asset to the franchise, and they are treating him well.
It will be intriguing to see when Chubb can return to the field. For Cleveland to have the kind of run they’re looking for, he’ll need to regain full health and become a dynamic impact player again.
Simply being able to return within the first few games would be impressive. When the accident happened last year, some were concerned that it might terminate his career.
Not only has it not terminated his career, but he has approached the rehab process actively and is recovering far faster than predicted.
Hopefully, he will be able to return after the first four games. He appears to be on track to return quite early this year.
Expect more information about Chubb in the coming weeks. The Browns must be thrilled with his development, and it appears like he is well on his path to recovery.
For the time being, Cleveland has taken excellent care of him and is thrilled to welcome him back to the field.
