With the preseason behind them, the New England Patriots have begun to pare down their roster as cutdown day approaches. Several players were released on Monday as the team seeks to reduce its roster from 90 to 53 players. All NFL rosters must be reduced to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. Patriots confirm release of 14 players

The Patriots confirmed the release of eight players who reportedly had been cut — long snapper Tucker Addington, wide receiver Kawaan Baker, defensive end William Bradley-King, linebacker Steele Chambers, running back Deshaun Fenwick, tight end La’Michael Pettway, defensive tackle Sam Roberts and cornerback Azizi Hearn.

They also announced the release of six more players: defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, offensive tackle Zuri Henry, defensive end Christian McCarroll, center Charles Turner, cornerback Mikey Victor and tight end Jacob Warren.

Pats release several players with cutdown day looming

New England started trimming its roster on Monday with a flurry of moves.

According to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, the Patriots have released long snapper Tucker Addington, cornerback Azizi Hearn, La’Michael Pettway, defensive tackle Sam Roberts, linebacker Steele Chambers, and defensive end William Bradley-King.
