The Auburn Tigers are generally healthy heading into this week’s game versus Alabama A&M.

The Auburn Tigers will open the season at home on Saturday against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. The Tigers will enter the game relatively healthy, with only a few players dealing with minor injuries.

Hugh Freeze, the head coach, delivered an update this week on numerous players, including linebacker Austin Keys and cornerback Keionte Scott.

“Our medical team felt like (Keys) was a probable,” Freeze added. “He has another day-to-day today, which is simply a walkthrough. I’ll need to see something from him on Tuesday and Wednesday before I can feel that way. That is how they felt about him and Keionte.

Pro Football Focus rated Keys as Auburn’s best linebacker, giving him a 74.8 rating. He was hurt in the first preseason scrimmage with a sprained MCL. Keys transferred from Ole Miss before last season, and he had an up-and-down season, missing five games due to a fractured thumb.

Scott will return to the starting cornerback position this season. He is nursing a slight hamstring ailment. Scott concluded last season with 42 tackles and no interceptions. Auburn will look on him to provide leadership in the secondary this season for an inexperienced squad.
