The Cleveland Browns have been encouraged to reunite with a familiar offensive weapon.
The Cleveland Browns will be an exciting club to watch early in the 2024 NFL season.
To get out to a fast start, the Browns will need quarterback Deshaun Watson to elevate his game to new heights. He needs to return to the style of game he was playing before being moved to Cleveland.
Watson will play an even bigger role in the absence of superstar running back Nick Chubb.
No one knows when Chubb will return to the field. He’ll miss at least the first four games of the 2024 NFL season after being placed on the PUP list. He will most certainly miss more than four weeks, but he should be back by the middle of the year.
With that in mind, the Browns will rely heavily on Jerome Ford, D’Onta Foreman, and Pierre Strong Jr. to replace him.
Bleacher Report now suggests that Cleveland reunite with a familiar face. They believe that the Browns should sign veteran running back Kareem Hunt.

“Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. are expected to carry the rushing attack until Chubb is ready to return. Ford had 1,132 total yards and nine touchdowns last season, so the Browns aren’t short of choices. However, Ford still needs to work on his patience and ability to read the blocks in front of him. The Browns could hunt for another experienced running back to complete the position group. They might go with a familiar face, since Kareem Hunt has played in Cleveland for the past five seasons.
Hunt would be an immediate sign and play addition. He’s familiar with the system that Cleveland runs and would be able to hit the ground running.
Hunt rushed 135 times for 411 yards and nine touchdowns with the Browns in 2023. He also grabbed 15 passes totaling 84 yards.
Hunt may not be the big-time playmaker he once was, but he can still be an effective role player. If the running back does not perform well in Week 1, he should be considered for a return.
It will be intriguing to see how the trio of running backs perform for Cleveland. Hopefully, they’ll get off to a good start and keep playing well until they pass over the reins to Chubb.
