Former Titans OL Saahdiq Charles Stepped Away to Focus on Mental Health….

The Tennessee Titans were forced to make an unexpected roster adjustment last offseason when offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles suddenly retired. At the time, the move raised questions, as Charles had shown promise and was expected to compete for a key role on the offensive front.

Now, with Charles back in the NFL after signing a one-year, $1.17 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys, more clarity has emerged regarding his brief departure from football.

According to Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr., Charles stepped away from the game prior to the 2023 regular season to focus on his mental health. The decision, while surprising at the time, reflects the increasing emphasis players are placing on personal well-being amid the demands of professional football.

The Cowboys recently brought in Charles for a workout and liked what they saw, ultimately signing him to bolster their offensive line depth.

Charles’ return marks a new chapter in his career, and the Cowboys are hopeful he can make a strong impact after taking the time he needed off the field.
