According to French publication L’Equipe, RC Lens are preparing to sack manager Dino Toppmoller.
His dismissal is now expected to mean he will not be on the Lens bench for their Friday night fixture against AS Monaco.
It comes only weeks after the German manager guided the Ligue 1 club to victory in the French Super Cup against PSG.
Todibo had not yet been included in the RC Lens squad at that stage, with a 1-0 victory securing the trophy.
What does this mean for Jean-Clair Todibo and West Ham?
With a new manager now expected to arrive, Todibo faces uncertainty over whether he will become a regular option at RC Lens.
It was still early under Toppmoller for the Frenchman, but he could take confidence from knowing that the German was the one who brought him to the club initially.
Todibo has featured in just one game for the Ligue 1 outfit, and with his agreement not containing an option to buy, West Ham will be keeping a close eye on his progress.
