YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT JÜRGEN KLOPP JUST SAID ABOUT CELTIC! (PLUS: YANG’S EXPLOSIVE DEBUT SHOCKS EVERYONE!)

Baur will hope to make his debut in the upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands, Greece and Serbia.

Jurgen Klopp is eager to work with ‘really exciting’ Mika Baur after giving the Celtic star his first call-up to the Germany national team.

Baur joined the Hoops in a deal worth around £4million from Paderborn in the summer and has made a positive impression at Parkhead, scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 away victory over St Johnstone earlier this month.

After two and a half years away from management, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund legend Klopp has succeeded Julian Nagelsmann as head coach of Die Mannschaft following their disappointing round of 32 elimination at the 2026 World Cup.

And he has selected Baur in his first squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands, Greece and Serbia.

Speaking about his decision to call up the Hoops playmaker, the 59-year-old said: “I consider him really exciting. He’s absolutely up for it.

“We also spoke on the phone about the weather in Glasgow – something I know well from Liverpool. With this move, he’s taken on a very challenging step.”

Meanwhile, Celts winger Yang is determined to help South Korea go all the way at the Asian Cup after their disappointing World Cup campaign.

The Taegeuk Warriors failed to advance from the group stage in North America, suffering defeats against South Africa and co-hosts Mexico after opening the tournament with a victory over the Czech Republic.

Yang, 24, helped his country begin their Asian Games campaign with a 4-1 thrashing of Qatar earlier this week but admits their early World Cup departure is still weighing on his mind.

He said: “I am still very upset with our results at the World Cup. I remain very frustrated about it. But the only way to try and make it up to our supporters is to win this Asian Cup and bring back joy to the fans.

“The entire team is united with the single goal of a gold medal and the manager here has the same mindset.

There are so many young players here with a lot of potential and I believe they can use this tournament as a stepping stone to grow into the senior national team in the future and they can help revitalise Korean football.”

Asked about his own display against Qatar – where he provided an assist – Yang replied: “Honestly, I wasn’t satisfied with my individual performance.

“I missed a lot of chances and I made too many mistakes more often than I expected, so I need to improve my concentration.

“I need to be more active on the wings and provide more of a threat. Personally, I need to reduce my mistakes, make more sacrifices for the team, and run an extra mile.

“I was disappointed to lose a goal against Qatar, but if we can improve our concentration, we are fully capable of winning.”
