Farke Will Be FUMING! Leeds Star’s Nations League Nightmare Leaves Fans Stunned After Last Night’s Shock Defeat

Leeds United will have been hoping for Anton Stach to enjoy a productive international break with Germany.

The Whites saw their midfielder receive a call-up to Jurgen Klopp’s squad ahead of the break, giving him his first opportunity to impress the former Liverpool boss.

He featured for 26 minutes in Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Thursday, which marked the opening game of their Nations League campaign.

Stach secured his call-up after another impressive start to the season with Leeds, where he has continued the momentum he built up last term.

Daniel Farke is a huge admirer of the 27-year-old and has likely held discussions with Klopp about the midfielder.

Stach featured for Germany again on Sunday, although his country suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat against Greece.

Why Leeds can breathe after Anton Stach’s cameo vs Greece

Germany now sit third in Group Two following their defeat to Greece and face the possibility of failing to reach the knockout stages.

Stach has now made five appearances for his country and will be hoping to add plenty more in the future.

However, he will not be making any further appearances during this international break.

Klopp deliberately named a 44-man squad for Germany’s camp, dividing the group into two.

Germany’s opening two matches allowed him to select from a group of 24 players, including Stach, while matches three and four will see him choose from a separate batch of 20 players.

Stach only came off the bench for the final six minutes against Greece and appears to have completed the game without suffering any serious injury.

The positive news for Leeds is that he is now presumably heading back to LS11 unscathed and prepared to return straight into first-team action for Farke.

Stach’s injury history assessed

Leeds do not exactly have the strongest squad depth, making it crucial to keep Stach fit.

However, he sustained four separate injuries for the Whites last season.

A head injury ruled him out of one match, while a minor muscle problem kept him sidelined for another in January.

He also suffered a hip issue which kept him out for three games during the middle of February.

But Stach’s ankle injury was arguably the most serious after his foot became swollen during an FA Cup win over West Ham in April.

It’s fair to say that the Leeds midfielder is not indestructible, and injuries can occur.

That is why Farke will be pleased that Stach’s minutes will now be controlled by no one other than Leeds until the next international break.
