IT’S ALL MY FAULT!” 😱 Russell Martin BREAKS HIS SILENCE as Leicester City’s DISASTROUS Start Sparks MAJOR QUESTIONS

Russell Martin understands why his Leicester City team have found it difficult to get going

Leicester City manager Russell Martin has accepted responsibility for his side’s sluggish beginning to their League One campaign. The Foxes have collected just nine points from eight matches and are positioned one point above the relegation zone.

Martin arrived at the King Power Stadium during the summer with the primary aim of guiding the club out of the third tier. However, the campaign has not started as expected, with Leicester currently occupying 17th place in the standings.

City, who remain unbeaten on the road in the league, have suffered three defeats in their opening four home matches and have displayed glimpses of promise. Despite the talent available within the squad, Leicester have found it challenging to deliver consistent performances.

Martin has faced heavy criticism over his playing philosophy at Leicester, but players including Louis Page, Tommy Watson, Emil Riis and John Lundstram have all maintained that once they become accustomed to his system, they will be a formidable side.

Speaking to LeicestershireLive, Martin was asked why he believes his team have struggled to perform consistently. “Like I’ve said to you many times, we’ve not been clinical enough with what we create and we’ve given away too many softs goals,” he said.

“It really is that simple. I will always say it, and I’ve said it to the players, it’s my fault, I’m the manager of the team. I have to help them and as a group of staff, help them find a way to be better at both ends.

That’s something that enthuses me and excites me. You have a problem, you try and find a solution and that’s the manager’s job. We try to give them as many solutions as possible and then hand over to them until we get the half-time break and then maybe we can look at other things again.

I love the group of players we work with. I think they’re brilliant, brilliant characters and personalities. Now I’m really, really hopeful they can show that on the pitch.
