BAYERN MUNICH BOMBSHELL! £60M LEEDS STAR EMERGES AS THEIR TOP 2027 TARGET — BLOCKBUSTER TRANSFER SHOCK ON THE CARDS

Leeds United face a major challenge to retain the services of star defender Tarik Muharemovic in 2027, with the Bosnian’s outstanding performances in the Premier League elevating him towards super-stardom and firmly placing him on the radar of European giants Bayern Munich, TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old only joined from Sassuolo in July, in a deal worth up to £34m (€40m, $45m), putting pen to paper on a long-term contract with Leeds running until June 2031.

Signed as the left-footed centre-back replacement for Pascal Struijk in the Leeds defence, Muharemovic has brought added quality to a crucial position, and after adapting rapidly under Daniel Farke, whose side remain unbeaten in their opening five Premier League matches.

Regular appearances, along with a goal and an assist, have already increased his value beyond the fee Leeds paid just a few months ago, and with his reputation continuing to grow, the Whites now believe they have a £60m-plus asset on their hands.

However, his impressive performances – further highlighted by his displays for Bosnia during the current international break – have attracted even greater attention to Muharemovic.

Indeed, sources can now confirm that Bayern Munich are becoming increasingly interested in the defender, with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international understood to be their leading target heading into 2027, TEAMtalk understands.

Sources suggest the Bundesliga champions could even consider testing Leeds’ resolve in January, although a mid-season transfer is considered impossible at Elland Road.

Undeterred, a move in the summer of 2027 is considered the more likely opportunity, with Bayern understood to be preparing a strong effort to lure the prized defender away from Elland Road.

But as sources can reveal, Bayern are not the only club showing interest, while Leeds United’s position on a potential sale – so soon after securing a player the club regards as one of its crown jewels – has also become clear…

Leeds will not let Tarik Muharemovic leave easily

Muharemovic’s form has also reignited interest from other clubs.

Indeed, as revealed by my colleague Graeme Bailey last week, Inter Milan remain closely monitoring the defender after failing to secure him during the summer.

At the time, they reached an agreement on personal terms with the player, before negotiations with Sassuolo collapsed and Leeds moved in. Inter have continued to monitor his progress, with a longer-term defensive overhaul in mind rather than an immediate approach.

Bayern are the latest club to enter the picture. Being on a shortlist does not constitute a formal bid, and January represents a challenging market for a player who has established himself as a regular in a team beginning to find its rhythm and positive form in the Premier League.

Sources insist Leeds have absolutely no sporting reason or financial need to sell halfway through his first season at the club, while a five-year contract leaves them firmly in control. Any meaningful discussions are therefore more likely after the season concludes – but even then, sources are adamant that it would require something extraordinary for the club to consider parting with their highly valued defender.

Muharemovic, however, was already attracting considerable interest before choosing Elland Road, with his arrival regarded as a significant coup by the Whites. Newcastle, Bournemouth and Sunderland had made enquiries while he was still with Sassuolo, forming part of a wider Premier League pursuit that also attracted Juventus’s interest due to a sell-on clause.

Leeds won that battle and have secured themselves an exceptional player.

Whether Bayern, Inter or another interested club can convince him to leave will depend less on the level of interest and more on whether the Whites are ever willing to set a price.

For now, though, that price is categorically not available, and, as one of the finest left-sided centre-backs not only in the Premier League but across world football, it will require something truly remarkable if Bayern – or anyone else – are to succeed in their attempts to lure the player away.
