Rangers kit manufacturer Castore is reportedly considering a sale after receiving a number of takeover proposals from various competitors within the industry.
The sportswear company has the backing of Sir Andy Murray.
While Rangers’ kits carry Umbro branding, Castore remains involved behind the scenes in producing and distributing the strips after obtaining the exclusive professional team sports licence for Umbro across the UK and several key European markets.
Sky News is now reporting that Castore’s board has opted to examine potential sale opportunities following a significant increase in interest.
The company generated £335m in annual revenue last year, with Scottish tennis star Murray having invested in the business since 2019.
Rangers kits previously featured Castore branding before the club moved to Umbro at the beginning of last season.
Umbro had previously supplied Rangers during some of the club’s most successful periods, including their UEFA Cup Final campaign in 2008 and several Scottish Premiership title-winning seasons prior to their demotion in 2012.
