YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! Thomas Tuchel STUNS Football World with Explosive 26-Man England Squad—2 Leeds United Stars IN, But 2 Snubbed in DEVASTATING Blow

Four Leeds United players were considered realistic contenders for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

England manager Thomas Tuchel has selected two Leeds United players for the upcoming international break.

The Three Lions have four Nations League fixtures ahead during this extended three-week break across September and October. Tuchel’s team begin their League A Group 3 campaign against world champions Spain at Wembley on Saturday, September 26, before travelling to Prague to face Czechia the following Tuesday.

England then head to Croatia on Saturday, October 3, for a behind-closed-doors fixture before welcoming Czechia to Wembley on Tuesday, October 6. Tuchel announced his 27-man squad for the four matches on Friday morning, with Leeds representation included – although not as much as some had anticipated.

After being credited with the second goal in Monday’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle United following an appeal, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has now scored four times this season, and his impressive beginning to the campaign has been rewarded. The 29-year-old missed the World Cup but has earned a recall to the England squad for these Nations League fixtures.

James Trafford was part of the World Cup squad but did not attend as a Leeds player, returning in July to finalise his club-record £40million transfer from Manchester City. The 23-year-old has featured for every Premier League minute so far and hopes that consistent first-team football can help him establish himself as his country’s first-choice goalkeeper.

There is no spot in the 27-man squad for Jayden Bogle, though, despite his excellent 2025/26 campaign and strong opening to the current season. He remains without his first England call-up. Versatile defender James Justin has likewise missed the opportunity to represent his country.

Speaking after Monday’s victory over Newcastle, Daniel Farke gave an indication of his thoughts regarding possible international selections for players with English passports. The Leeds manager was asked about Calvert-Lewin and Bogle.

Asked about Calvert-Lewin’s chances of a call-up, Farke said: “Definitely realistic. But there are a few other names on my mind with an English passport after a performance like this.”

Pressed on whether he was referring to a potential call-up for Bogle, the Leeds boss responded: “Yes, and he also has an English passport. Yes, I agree.”

Farke is expected to address the media this afternoon ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Elland Road. The Leeds boss will likely be questioned again about the England squad and the players who have and have not been selected.
