IT’S HIS FAULT! Neil Lennon ACCUSES Target After Celtic DESTROYED In Europa League DisASTER

Of course the manager always faces questions but he made four changes tonight to freshen things up and it was still the same outcome.

Neil Lennon was in no doubt over who was responsible for Celtic’s defeat against Ferencvaros.

The blame can be placed entirely on the players.

Lennon was on co-commentary duty last night as Ferencvaros secured a comfortable 3-1 victory in the Europa League.

A generation ago Celtic Park was a genuine stronghold under Martin O’Neill and Lennon.

One season Rosenborg, Porto and Juventus all suffered defeats in the Champions League.

Two seasons later Lyon and Anderlecht were beaten before Bayern Munich settled for a 0-0 draw.

Things change. Last season Braga, Stuttgart and Roma all triumphed at Celtic Park after Kairat Almaty secured a 0-0 draw in the Champions League Play Off.

Things change. Celtic in 2026 are nowhere near the level of the side O’Neill managed during his first spell.

With around £80m sitting in the bank following another financially successful transfer window, fans’ frustration is being directed towards the boardroom.

LENNON ONLY SEES BLAME ON THE PITCH

Lennon was appointed manager twice after initially taking charge as caretaker.

While working for TNT Sport, he was very clear about where he believed responsibility for last night’s 3-1 defeat lay.

The Daily Record reported Lennon saying:

It’s the players. There’s loads of experience out there.

I think the game management of this team has to be called into question, whether it be LASK away or Rangers away and even tonight at times.

Whether it be decision making, not taking enough responsibility on and off the ball.

Of course the manager always gets questions asked but he made four changes tonight to freshen it up and its still the same response.

What should Celtic Fans Collective do with Not Another Penny?

Lennon is entitled to his opinion like anyone else. He watched Celtic collapse. Within five minutes of levelling the match they were 3-1 behind and appeared a beaten side.

Ultimately the responsibility rests at the very top.

The CEO appoints the manager who prepares and chooses the players.

Two years ago Celtic began their Champions League campaign with a 5-1 victory over Slovan Bratilslava.

Last night’s side was almost unrecognisable.

There are seven more difficult Europa challenges to come, with the next one away at Benfica on October 15. After that, Celta Vigo visit Glasgow. Two sides that most supporters would consider well above Ferencvaros.

O’Neill has a chance on Sunday to stop the run of poor results and criticism.

Problems at Celtic will remain regardless of Sunday’s result in the Glasgow Derby.

However, a victory would slow the growing pressure. A defeat could trigger 20 days of turmoil before the meeting with Motherwell at Fir Park on October 11.
