IT’S A CONSPIRACY _ The Premier League Drops a BOMBSHELL Statement After Disgraceful VAR Scandal

VAR took centre stage at Elland Road today as Leeds United faced a struggling Crystal Palace side in a Premier League encounter that finished 0-0.

Leeds and Palace went head-to-head in Yorkshire today as two teams in contrasting form met in a match with significant consequences.

The Whites were widely expected to sweep aside a Palace side enduring a difficult run of form. However, the visitors rose to the occasion and delivered a much-improved display.

Leeds pushed forward without finding a breakthrough, and the performance was a long way from the impressive showing they produced in the 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Elland Road last Monday night.

Premier League issues statement on VAR call at Leeds

Palace believed they had taken a surprise lead when Tyrick Mitchell found the net in the second half, but their celebrations were halted just a couple of minutes later.

A VAR review of the goal determined that Palace wing-back Anan Khalaili had been in an offside position during the build-up, resulting in the goal being ruled out.

It was a marginal decision, but the Premier League has clarified the ruling and explained why Palace were denied the opening goal.

The Premier League explained the decision: “VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and determined that Khalaili was in an offside position in the build-up and recommended that the goal was disallowed.”

It was a significant escape for Leeds, who would have faced a difficult task trying to respond if Palace had been able to hold onto their advantage for the final 30 minutes.

Daniel Farke would be disappointed with the performance

Leeds were strong favourites to overcome Palace at home today following the manner in which they dismantled Newcastle United on Monday night.

However, the performance was a stark contrast to that display, with Leeds appearing somewhat below their best against Palace.

The visitors put together a disciplined performance and did well to restrict Leeds’ opportunities. At the same time, the hosts struggled to manufacture enough clear-cut chances.

Leeds had an opportunity to demonstrate that they could build on their impressive performance against Newcastle, but ultimately highlighted that consistency remains an issue for the team.

Farke will hope the players return from the international break fit and prepared to rediscover their best form and embark on another positive run.
