HW IS GONE: GOOD BYE….

HW IS GONE: GOOD BYE....

Following a 0-5 start to the season in the first six games, Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager Koby Altman revealed on Sunday that Head Coach Ty Lue had been sacked.

This was a really challenging choice. Given Coach Lue’s tenure with us over the last four years, which included four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals, this is particularly true, Altman stated.

“As a person as well as a coach, Ty has our utmost regard and adoration. We wish him the best of luck and express our gratitude for all that he has done to help us succeed. He will always be recognised for turning around a very unique Cavs team against all odds to win the championship in 2016. However, this is a distinct team equation, and one that we thought that this shift was necessary in order to adopt a new voice and strategy.

After David Blatt was sacked in January 2016, Lue took over as head coach. He led the team into the postseason and won the first NBA title for the Cavaliers.

Lue has a combined record of 128-83 (.606) during the regular season and 41-20 (.672) throughout the postseason.

Larry Drew, the associate head coach, will take his position. Prior to moving to Cleveland, Drew was the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks from 2010 to 2013 and the Milwaukee Bucks from 2013 to 2014.
