Why, despite the Cowboys’ disastrous playoff run, Mike McCarthy shouldn’t be fired
Even after the Dallas Cowboys lost in embarrassing fashion once more in the playoffs, Jerry Jones ought to think twice before ending the Mike McCarthy experiment. The veteran owner should refrain from taking a snap judgement that would damage the club for the next ten years.

McCarthy’s 167 career victories rank him second among NFL coaches in 2023 behind only Bill Belichick (302), Andy Reid (258), Mike Tomlin (173), and Pete Carroll (170). His 62.0 victory rate is higher than that of renowned offensive coordinators Kyle Shanahan (55.7%) and Sean McVay (60.9%).
