YOU WON’T BELIEVE THE REAL REASON JAMES MILNER WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN LEEDS AGAIN! (HE FINALLY BROKE HIS SILENCE!)

Leeds United remain one of England’s biggest clubs and boast a historic home ground. The team has been home to some of the Premier League’s finest players since the competition began.

In recent years, however, the Whites have struggled to maintain their place among the top-flight sides.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, they achieved the seemingly impossible by securing promotion and returning to the Premier League for the first time in more than a decade. However, that period did not last long, as they were relegated just three seasons later.

Daniel Farke has been in charge since then, and the club’s fortunes have changed significantly.

Leeds are now in their second season back in the top flight after surprising many by finishing 14th last campaign.

James Milner explains why he fell out with Leeds United

Premier League and Champions League winner James Milner will always have a connection with Leeds United. He was one of their many academy graduates who went on to enjoy a highly successful career.

He did not spend much time at Elland Road as a first-team player, with Newcastle United signing him in 2004.

Since then, the midfielder has not enjoyed the strongest relationship with the club. During a recent appearance with Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt on The Good, The Bad & The Football show on YouTube, he revealed when his relationship with Leeds changed.

”I was more than happy to stay at Leeds, I wanted to stay at Leeds but it was best for the club for me to go.

”They needed the money so I went to Newcastle and they got to the play off final that first year after I had gone to Newcastle

”So I contacted the club because I wanted to go and watch them at Wembley and I said: ”can I come and watch the game”

They said yeah no problem, we can get you some tickets, just let us know how you want to pay for them”

Despite the experience, the former Liverpool and Manchester City star still retains affection for the club.

”I don’t have any hard feelings for the club, I love the club.”

”It was just the people in charge at the time and stuff. And yeah I’ve not been [there] since.”

Milner’s feelings are understandable

Based on the former midfielder’s account, it is understandable that he still feels the way he does about the situation.

His departure from Elland Road was not necessarily his choice, with Leeds deciding that selling a talented player was the right financial decision for the club. James Milner left Leeds and has rarely criticised the club publicly.

Supporters may have been disappointed by the transfer, but the decision ultimately came from those running the club at the time.

However, the situation surrounding Milner’s attempt to attend the play-off final at Wembley only added another layer to the story. A more considerate approach from the club could perhaps have left Milner with a more positive memory of his time at Leeds.
