Harrison Armstrong was in action away from Everton for England’s Under-21s on Friday.
The midfielder is included in Darren Moore’s squad and started against Italy’s youth team in the U20 Euro Elite League on 25 September.
With the young Three Lions beginning their campaign at the Estadi Olympic Camilo Cano in Spain, they secured an impressive 3-1 win on the day.
Armstrong featured for the entire 90 minutes for England’s U20 side, which will surely raise some concerns at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The 19-year-old has featured from the start in every Premier League match for the Toffees this season.
Given the midfielder’s importance to the Merseyside club, fans in L3 may have mixed emotions about his involvement with the youth national team.
Why David Moyes won’t be happy about Harrison Armstrong at Everton
Christian Norgaard’s injury at Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a major setback for the Toffees.
David Moyes is already working with limited options at the Blues, with only 18 outfield players available.
Important players such as Jordan Pickford, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Garner are part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad during the three-week break.
The Scottish manager will be hoping the respective national teams manage his players’ playing time carefully, but that’s something Moore hasn’t done with the young Three Lions.
Although it’s positive to see Armstrong gain international experience alongside the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Mikey Moore, Moyes and the Blues would surely have preferred England’s U20 team to take extra care of the midfielder.
Why David Moyes will also have eyes on Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling
Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling have displayed plenty of promise at Everton this season.
The former Southampton youngster is finally demonstrating why the Toffees invested heavily in him last summer.
Lee Carsley will now hope the two Blues forwards can help England’s U21s in the final three U21 EURO qualifiers.
Given the depth of the squad in L3, George and Dibling have become important squad members for Moyes, offering cover on the left and right flanks.
The former Southampton attacker could even have an opportunity to push for a starting place following Iliman Ndiaye’s departure on deadline day.
In Merseyside, the Scottish manager will be hoping nothing happens to the two youngsters while they are away from Hill Dickinson Stadium.
