Tarik Muharemovic was fortunate to avoid a booking for his actions during Leeds United’s clash with Crystal Palace.
That is the view of former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett, who gave his assessment exclusively to MOT Leeds News.
Muharemovic featured for the entire 90 minutes for Leeds in Sunday’s encounter at Elland Road.
The Whites failed to break down Palace as the match ended in a rather uneventful goalless draw.

Tyrick Mitchell saw a goal disallowed for Palace, but otherwise the game passed without much controversy.
Or so it seemed, until footage involving Muharemovic from the first half of the contest surfaced.
Tarik Muharemovic accused of attempting to deceive officials
Muharemovic registered more shots than any other Leeds player against Palace, which is somewhat concerning.
It was an unusually quiet Elland Road outing for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and his attacking teammates.
Muharemovic was evidently eager to make an impact, but he has been criticised for taking things too far with an apparent act of simulation.
The incident occurred when Quinten Timber extended his arm and made contact with Muharemovic’s face.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international went down dramatically, seemingly in an effort to have his opponent sent off.
Like rookie referee Adam Herczeg, however, Hackett was not convinced, as he said: “This is a poor and frankly unacceptable behaviour by Muharemovic.
“He should have received a yellow card for attempting to deceive the referee by an act of simulation. Sadly, VAR is unable to intervene in this one.”
Leeds vs Crystal Palace stands out for the wrong reason
Leeds have now recorded four goalless draws in the Premier League during this calendar year.
Two of those have come against Palace, with the teams also sharing the points at Selhurst Park in March.
That means this is the only Premier League fixture to have produced multiple goalless draws in 2026.
Fortunately, the two sides will not face each other again until the very end of May.
